Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

So after some solid years of drinking downtown I finally had Squiggy's for the first time in my life!! What took me so long? Well for one, I always religiously parked in the RiverFront garage and there was another (may still be there) pizza place around the corner from Art Bar which had tables and chairs. And after a full night of drinking I definitely wanted to eat my pizza while seated.... and Squiggy's does not have seats. And you may or may not remember some of those tales of what goes on at Squiggy's after hours? I won't fill you in on here as I'm sure you can google...but for those with sanitary concerns, well Squiggy's isn't your place to go. So fast forward to now. Seating is less of a concern when you're now bar hopping instead of clubbing... and now I park near Squiggy's as RiverFront (RIP) is long and gone. So when a friend suggested we grab a slice at the late night hour of midnight lol I happily agreed. I opted for the veggie slice because seeing green on my food makes me happy...and it was delicious! I'm not pizza connoisseur but this was great and had some crispiness to the dough so I didn't need to dangle it in front of my mouth to get a bite! It isn't often that I need to eat pizza after a night out anymore (the liver and brain have really forced me to slow down) but next time I need pizza late night, I'll be stopping by Squiggy's!

I had two slices last night after getting off work late. It was about 11:30pm. It was one of the only places that I could get something hot and fresh without going the fast food route. The guy at the counter was nice enough and helpful. I ordered a slice of meat lover's and a slice of veggie ( spinach, tomato, basil, mozz ). The dough was thin and crispy and the sauce was delicious. I ordered a side of it and was damn near licking the inside of the little styrofoam cup. Between the two slices, I liked the spinach tomato better. It had a clean taste, wasn't too greasy, and the flavors stood out singularly as well as together. The meat lovers just felt too decadent going down after a lighter flavor. Next time I will get two veggie. My gut and thighs will thank me for it manifold. The only thing I didn't like was that I didn't get a receipt explaining what cost what. I got the two slices, a small 5 oz cup of sauce and a canned iced tea ( Peace Tea...which are like Arizona Teas. They usually don't go for more than a buck. ) My total was $13??? I was tired and hungry so I just forked it over but after waking up this morning, I'm scratching my head as to why it cost so much.

DISCLAIMER: I AM A CHICAGO GUY... That said...Tony and his 'za are a Ft. Lauderdale Institution. He really takes pride in the quality of product he offers and it absolutely shows. My wife is a cheese girl and I am a sausage guy, but regardless of the extra topping, the cheese, sauce and crust make this Ft. lauderdale's best pizza offering. Now I understand that the 2 am crowd might not possess the 'James Beard' award winning discerning palate, but those lucky inebriated souls are enjoying something akin to performance art. Your pizza may arrive on a humble paper plate, but do not underestimate the treat you are about to experience! The cheese, warm and delicious, not too stringy or too chewy, the sauce, tangy & tasty, and the crust: crunchy and thin. In short, I don't just enjoy Tony's pizza, I admire his heart, because that's what you get in every bite. No matter the time of day, I encourage you to try his pizza. I NEVER regret choosing Squiggy's and you won't either.

I remember hitting up Squiggy's in the late 90s early 2000s after clubbing all night long. The pizza was delicious and the closest thing you could get to NY pizza. But then I grew up, RiverFront closed, the bars on 1st dwindled down and then I did not have the need to order a slice or 2 at 4am! However, I will always have those memories. I recently was downtown when a homeless man approached me for change. I did not have any cash on me but then he asked me if I would buy him a slice of pizza. While I am not wealthy, I felt it was the right thing to do so we walked to Squiggy's. I ordered him 2 slices and then he asked for pepperoni (which was pushing it a little) and the nice man behind the counter heated them up. When he saw that it was for a homeless man, he gave me a bit of a discount, which was very nice. The pizza is good, the service is straightforward, and I will always remember my drunken nights sobering up with a slice from Squiggy's!

We are downtown and need something to eat quick before we hit the nightlife. Squiggys had huge NY slices of pizza and I had the best cannoli ever!! Their calzones were so bomb everything was so flavorful but not greasy which was even better. They serve beer too! The staff were so friendly and nice! Would recommend anyone coming here for a good affordable meal.

OMG, the pizza I ordered was everything. I had the sausage and pepperoni with bacon. On a Friday night bar hopping, you definitely have to stop here!!!

This place wasn't opened when it's hours said it was. I've been here many times before. Clearly it's gone down hill as they don't even open when they say they'll be.

Best pizza in Downtown Ft Lauderdale! Their pies are thin and crispy and simply delicious. However, the best dish from this joint is the canollis! I make sure that every time I'm in the vecinity, I get one because they are heaven in my mouth! The filling is sweet enough but not overpowering and the crust is crunchy and delicious... OMG I need to go get one after this review is done lol

Nothing great. Your regular pizza stop. Its ok when u are out in ft lauderdale area and you re drunk and need a quick snack to keep party. The place is always crowed it and the owner are rude. Anyways what get what you pay for. 3 dollar cheese pizza five for speciality. Overall ok place if you are around and drunk go for it.

Boyfriend and I were craving pizza and wanted somewhere we could walk to. Their pizza isn't bad but definitely understand why their business mainly comes from people who have had a few drinks. If you're craving a quality pizza I would not recommend this place but if you're looking for a quick slice then this place would suit you.

an A ok slice of porno pizza after imbibing in DT FTL any given weekend. doesn't come close to primanti's by the beach but it'll do for its location.
(3)Constance M.
Love, love, LOVE Squiggy's! Best place for 2 am pizza after partying all night.
(4)Michael B.
Just read a news article about how they let a porno be filmed at this place while they were still serving customers. They even let one of the chicks put sauce on a pizza. The article linked to the video proof. Disgusting. I'll never be eating here.

One thing that needs to be said is that this is New York pizza. Someone looking for a "gourmet" or coal-fire type pizza would be looking in the wrong place. True NY pizza is usually just cheese or pepperoni, and very greasy. Whether you've been drinking at the nearby bars or are just looking for a slice downtown in the afternoon, Squiggy's is the best and most authentic NY slice you will find in South Florida, and I have looked tirelessly for a place like this. I just wish I lived closer, but have actually driven the 15 miles just for a slice.
(5)Chris G.
After a late night downtown, this was the only pizza place open, but the pizza wasn't bad at all. I even went back a week later just to get pizza while I was sober to give it a real taste test and it didn't let me down. While it may not be the greatest of all, it isn't bad and the service is fast and friendly.

It hit the spot. This a little pizzeria similar to the ones that you find on NY. They also offered gyros and Italian sausage hot dogs. This is a good place to end up your night after some drinking. I visited this place on a Friday night and the line was really really long. The pizza was amazing; the sauce had the right combination between sweetness; acidity and spice. There's some outside seating if you're lucky enough to find a spot.

If you are eating here you are drunk. If you are eating here you are not about to pull up yelp and say "gee I wonder what yelp says about this yucky pizza joint in the middle of himmarshee" for what it is, and what it provides (greasy cheesy goodness after a binge drinking episode) it does the trick. The line can get long, but it typically moves quick. It's definitely not the best slice of your life but depending on how much you drank it could taste that way.
(3)Mike M.
This is seriously the best pizza place on SW 2nd in Fort Lauderdale. Tony (owner) is a true New Yorker with legit New York style pizza. Ask any bartender on the Fort Lauderdale strip and they will tell you to come here. You will not be disappointed
(5)Sergio F.
Five stars for what it is..a slice of pizza and a coke after a night out that involve drinks! You go in, you do your thing - eating - and bam! Thanks for a slice of pizza. Three stars overall, and a mention on my Late Night Gourmet list!
(3)Andrew ß.
Huge slice for $5 Also gyros
(3)Avidan R.
Who the hell would spend $5 for a slice of pepperoni and sausage pizza?? Clearly only the drunkest of the drunk of FTL....and the two of us coming off a late night flight with nowhere else open. The pizza was adequate at best...and the porno is probably the best thing to come out of the kitchen. For $2 no less.
(1)Henry A.
They have a table set by the entrance selling delicious gyros! Best eaten at 3am.
(3)sean k.
How has the health department not shut this place down after they had a porno filmed on the table their pizzas are made on? This is disgusting. blogs.browardpalmbeach.c… It's a shame I have even tried their pizza, it was not good, anyway.
(1)Tereza B.
Worse pizza n broward! Skip this hellish sloppy mess of a pizza. You will thank yourself in the morning
(1)Miggy F.
Best pizza by the slide I ever had in down town Ft. Lauderdale, stick with the meat lover well done!
(4)Mike B.
Horrifyingly bad (and overpriced.) One of the worst slices of pizza I've had in a long time. I've always wondered why there isn't any decent late-nite snack spot among all the bars and clubs in this area...even one semi-OK competitor could raise the stakes enough to make them at least care a little more about what they're dishing out. It's a sad reflection on Ft. Lauderdale that this seems to be the iconic late-nite place. But that's a big part of the problem: since most of their patrons are drunk out of their minds, they'll eat any kind of crap, and this place has no problem just serving it right up!
(1)Lori T.
Stopped here one lunch one afternoon, since I was tired of Riverfront Pizza at Riverwalk. To my surprise, the pizza was pretty good - nice, stiff crunchy crust and not overly greasy. Definitely an easy spot to pick up a slice if you're out drinking or want to grab a quick bite if you work in the area. Don't expect more than what is advertised though. The interior is cramped. it's more like a tiny bar than a restaurant. Not gourmet pizza.
(4)Bryan O.
It's a great pizza place for after a good drinking fest down there. It definitely fills a particular need after consuming some adult beverages. Much better than a drive-thru. May not be the best pizza in the world, definitely not the worst, but the hours of operation & location make this place 4 stars in my book.
(4)Allan R.
Best pizza in Broward County. Best cannoli"s in Broward County. Best staff in Broward County. Nuff said!
